Let’s Start With Metaverse

What is a Metaverse at all and how to use it in education? Metaverse is focused on social connection and digital communication, interaction and .. education! Metaverse is a network of 3D visual worlds that is already changing the way we interact and the way we will start educating in the future. Yes, it does sound a bit out of a fantasy world however this is what is coming our way.

And What About Augmented Reality?

Augmented Reality supplements the reality around us, giving familiar, everyday objects additional properties.  Augmented reality has been used for years in medicine, advertising, military technology, games, object monitoring and mobile devices. Metaverse includes Virtual and Augmented Reality and this digital world operates on multiple devices from mobile ones to desktops which includes a wide range of possibilities for users and opportunities for all of us to communicate and educate.

How To Apply It To Education?

The metaverse has the potential to become a new educational environment that allows for social educational communication, a higher degree of freedom and sharing as well as immersive experiences through virtualization. Augmented reality supported by Augmented Classroom  already provides teachers and students limitless possibilities for visualisation, interaction and collaboration within augmented digital playground. With the help of Augmented Reality in metaverse teachers have the possibility to:

  • Analyse the students’ understanding of the metaverse;
  • Design classes for students to solve problems or perform projects cooperatively and creatively;
  • Create a personalized approach to learning and teaching;
  • Use advanced digital technology during lessons.

Nowadays there is a trend for online education. So the great feature of the Metaverse is the possibility of moving physical classes in the virtual environment on demand which helps to avoid disruptions in the educational process.
